HuaXi (Sichuan) Cardiopulmonary Workshop

The workshop centred on applying the physiological principles that underpin respiratory physiotherapy techniques in clinical practice. Through clinical case discussions, the role of physiotherapy in airway clearance, lung volume optimisation, and dyspnoea management was explored.

The workshop was a great success, enriched by the active engagement of all participants.

Teaching becomes extraordinary when students share their voices. Below is a beautiful message from one of the participants in my workshop, Ms Nancy Nan Xi, a senior research student at Sichuan University—a message that touched me deeply and reflects the joy, growth, and kindness we experience together.

“Alice, I hope you have a safe and smooth journey home!   I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to attend your course and talk with you. I gained so much from your course. The course was very well organized, and your teaching was clear, easy to understand, and logical. I especially appreciated how patient you were in explaining things and guiding us step by step. Your passion for PT, as well as how serious, rigorous, and responsible you are about the profession, made me appreciate the value and appeal of PT even more. To me, you are truly a role model in our field, both as a PT and as a teacher. I will definitely continue to learn from your online courses, and I hope I will have the opportunity to join your workshops again in the future.

For young PTs like us who are still at the beginning of our professional journey, the opportunity to learn from you, exchange ideas with you, and hear your experience and advice is especially valuable. I believe this kind of opportunity gives us not only knowledge, but also direction and a clearer understanding of our profession. At this point, as I am approaching graduation and facing some important decisions about my future, your advice has given me a great deal to think about. It made me realize that I need to think more seriously about my professional identity, who I want to be as a PT, and where I want to go in the future.

As for my next step and further study, I will carefully consider the advice and information you shared with me, together with my own goals, interests, circumstances, and what is realistically possible for me. After I have thought everything through carefully, I will share my thoughts with you.

Thank you again for all your teaching, advice, and guidance. I wish you good health and all the best, and I hope I will have the chance to meet you and learn from you again in the future!”
